Stalled
January 8th, 2007Just to let my readers know that I am stalled on the bit about fidelity (my third installment in the 10th-anniversary pontificating series about marriage). I understand that by publicizing my writing difficulties I will heighten expectations and therefore make the writing even more difficult to meet said expectations.
I take the risk.
Take the risk! I’m waiting with, unfortunately for you, bated breath!
Go for it. No judgements here.
Isn’t it funny how one sometimes stalls on a post. Happens to me a fair bit, but it’s ok. Just means it needs to cook a little longer. I’m with LK (and Charlotte too who’s clearly kidding you). There’s no pressure amongst blog friends.
Oh and I meant to add (and forgot) that I loved the line cooked up by Phillipe Sollers, who’s married to Julia Kristeva, and who was asked by a magazine about the supposed infidelities of their relationship. Sollers serenely replied ‘La fidelite? qu’est ce que c’est la fidelite?’ Most people could give it a definition, only a French philosopher could treat it as a suspicious metaphysical concept!
Thank you for your support everyone. I generally treat blogger’s block by leaving hard posts in the oven a little longer, stepping over them and moving on to more mature writing. But I knew that if I put that one on the side, it would stay there virtually forever.
Rest assured, I am almost done. It will come out tomorrow — or not.
