"an intelligent and interesting person who is aware of his value without being conceited" -- thanks. Or it could be that I could not find a 20th thing. Or it could be a joke about 19.99 things and I had to find something slightly less valuable to remain below the 20 things psychological barrier.

It reminds me of a joke book dedication : 'to the one person without whom nothing useful I ever did could ever have happened: me'.

I like the fact that you consider yourself invaluable. It is important that we know how intrinsically valuable we are as unique beings living lightly on the earth. I know some people would think that such a statement would be unconscionably self-absorbed and self-important, but I take it as the statement of an intelligent and interesting person who is aware of his value without being conceited.

Like the list, probably won't copy you. I have too many blog post ideas as it is!

Nope - definitely not rosemary. The vernacular name is unknown to me, but it is probably of the weedia genus. A wild guess: weedia weedia vulgus.

What an interesting concept - I'm taking the liberty of creating my own list on the archive. Not that my list will be as striking as yours. I love the plant - is it Rosemary?
