I said I had to do more reading, but I can still post pictures.

If these are the sorts of pictures you’re going to post, then you have to read my rave about The Pleasures of Ruins and put the book on your list of books to read (it will give you close to 500 pages worth of reading).
Truth be told, it is your rave that reminded me I had several quite nice pictures of castles I could disclose. I will probably not read Rose Macaulay’s book, but be sure I’m looking forward to reading more about it in your reports.
Hmm…I thought your picture of a gorgeous castle ruin was just WAY too coincidental on the same day as I posted my take on Macaulay’s book. (But stranger coincidences have been known to happen in my life.) Glad I inspired you. More please. (You know, we have no such fantastic castle ruins in the States.)
There will be more. I used to spend week-ends criss-crossing the region in search of venerable stones (still standing or otherwise) in hope that the wisdom of the stones would show in my pictures.
