Beautiful. You’re lucky that Miel is a light-colored cat. I would put more Whimsy and less Puck on my blog if Whimsy was easier to photograph. Black cats are tricky. They usually ends up looking like blobs with shiny eyes.
Black anything is tricky. I had to make a dozen takes for a copper jam basin full of blackberries: reflections, black blob, a close-up’s nightmare.
I agree. Black cats are extremely tricky, I have one that I try to catch regularly. I have found that it helps a lot if I use the flash, or if everything is extremely well lit. Sometimes I get a magical image, other times the blob with eyes.
I hope Francis grows up and becomes such a fine speciman.
